Parade, Flag Raising Planned To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day In Aurora

With just over a month until St. Patrick's Day, organizers are calling local organizations and businesses to sign up to walk in the parade.

AURORA, IL — The City of Aurora will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a parade and flag-raising ceremony.

The festivities will coincide with the observed St. Patrick's Day, which falls on Sunday, March 17. Events are planned from 11 a.m. to noon.

The parade will step off at the corner of Water Street and Downer Place, proceed west on Downer Place and end at the corner of Stolp Avenue and Downer Place.

With just over a month until St. Patrick's Day, organizers are calling Aurora-based organizations and businesses that want to "shamrock the block" to sign up to walk in the parade. Participants must be decked out in traditional Irish colors — green, white and orange — and vehicles will be limited to one per group, officials said.
