Pilot Dies In Plane Crash Into Farm Field; Passenger, 3, Survives
A plane crashed in a farm field at 12727 U.S. Highway 30 in Hinckley at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
HINCKLEY, IL — One person is dead following a plane crash in DeKalb County Saturday afternoon.
Local emergency crews were called to the scene of a plane that crashed in a farm field at 12727 U.S. Highway 30 in Hinckley at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Hinckley Fire Protection District.
When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they were able to extricate the pilot from the plane and perform CPR and life-saving measures. The pilot did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

A 3-year-old passenger in the plane sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to a news release.
The cause of the plane crash remains under investigation.
