Pop-Up Food Pantry To Feed Aurora Residents Monday

Food banks serving residents in Aurora have seen huge increases in the need for their services during the coronavirus pandemic.

AURORA, IL — Aurora residents can stop by Phillips Park on Monday morning to pick up fresh meat, dairy and produce. The city partnered with several local organizations to host a second pop-up pantry, after a "fantastic" food-distribution event last month, officials said.

The pop-up pantry is set to be open from 9-11:30 a.m. Monday in Phillips Park. Cars should enter at Smith Boulevard and Fifth Avenue, the release states. Residents do not need to register or show identification to receive groceries.

The pop-up pantry in May fed about 800 families, and this month’s event will have a bigger selection of groceries to support more families, officials said.
