Pop-Up Pantry To Feed Aurora Residents Thursday
The city has partnered with the Northern Illinois Food Bank and the Quad Country Urban League to provide food for up to 800 families.
AURORA, IL — Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin is set to hand out groceries to residents at a pop-up food pantry Thursday morning in Phillips Park. Irvin will be joined by Julie Yurko and Theodia Gillespie, the leaders of the Northern Illinois Food Bank and the Quad County Urban League, respectively. The city has partnered with the two organizations to provide food for up to 800 families in need, according to a news release.
Aurora Unveils Reopening Plan For Restaurants, Retail Stores
Irvin, Yurko and Gillespie are scheduled to speak ahead of the drive-thru food-distribution event, which runs from 9-11 a.m. at Phillips Park, located at 1000 Ray Moses Drive. Cars should enter at Smith Boulevard and Fifth Avenue, the release states. Residents do not need to register to receive groceries.
