Portion Of Prairie Street Will Be Closed For 9 Days: Aurora Police

Prairie Street between Orchard Road and Barnes Road will be closed to through traffic while BNSF Railway begins repairing its rail crossing.

AURORA, IL — A portion of Prairie Street on Aurora's west side will be closed for nine days starting Thursday to accommodate BNSF Railway workers, officials said.

In order for crews to repair the rail crossing, Prairie Street between Orchard Road and Barnes Road will be closed to through traffic. The roadway will reopen at 5 p.m. Sept. 30, according to city officials.

While the road is shut down, signage will be posted to direct drivers to Jericho Road as a detour route.
