AURORA, IL — Friday will mark one week since convicted Ripper Crew killer Thomas Kokoraleis was released from prison after serving 35 years for the 1982 murder of Lorry Borowski. Kokoraleis began his life as a free man at Wayside Cross Ministries in Aurora, which is where community members will gather Friday to protest Kokoraleis living in their city and to hold a press conference expressing their opposition.

A press release said the protest, organized by Dr. Matt Harrington, will give residents the chance to share their "dissatisfaction with the non-action of Wayside Cross Ministries and the Aurora City Government for allowing this predator to reside in our community and putting our lives in extreme danger."

Kokoraleis was part of the notorious Ripper Crew, which has been linked to the murders and disappearances of as many as 18 women. In the press release for Friday's protest, Harrington mentioned that Kokoraleis had admitted to committing acts of cannibalism and satanic rituals on victims.

While he is at Wayside Cross Ministries, Kokoraleis will take part in classes and skills training designed to help him reassimilate into society. The ultimate goal is to help Kokoraleis get a job and permanent housing situation, Chicago Tribune reports. As for Kokoraleis, he says he just wants to be left alone.

"I will not be a threat to Aurora and their citizens," he told the Chicago Tribune. "I swear to that."
