Aurora Reckless Homicide Suspect Turns Himself In: Cops

Police say the teen was driving a car that struck and killed Larenzo Bryant, 37, in late March.

AURORA, IL — A 19-year-old Aurora man who faces reckless homicide charges in the hit-and-run death of another man is now in custody, according to police. Police say Kendrick Scott, of the 2000 block of Rosehill Ln., turned himself in Friday at noon at Aurora Police Department.

Scott allegedly fatally struck Larenzo Bryant, 37, of Aurora on March 31 just after 11 p.m. while Bryant was walking along Ogden Ave.

Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Scott, who was driving a 2013 Buick Regal with a female passenger, 19, allegedly left the scene of the accident.

Scott was sought on warrants for reckless homicide and for driving 35 mph or more above the posted speed limit at the time of the fatal collision.
