Rep. Bill Foster's Resolution Honors Henry Pratt Shooting Victims
On Feb. 15, 2019, five Henry Pratt Company employees, including one intern, were killed by a gunman who opened fire in the warehouse.

AURORA, IL — Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives to honor the victims of the tragic Henry Pratt Company mass shooting, his office announced Thursday.
The resolution marks the fourth anniversary of the mass shooting that left five people dead and six police officers injured.
On Feb. 15, 2019, Pratt employees Russell Beyer, Vicente Juarez, Clayton Parks, Josh Pinkard and Trevor Wehner, an intern on his first day of work, lost their lives after a fellow employee opened fire in the warehouse. Six Aurora police officers and one other employee were injured before the 45-year-old shooter was fatally shot by police, Patch previously reported.

Through the document, which names each of the victims and shares details of their lives, officials look to express condolences, provide support, commend emergency responders and stand "in solidarity with the victims of senseless gun violence in communities across the United States."
"On February 15, 2019, five members of the Aurora community were taken far too soon in a senseless act of gun violence," Foster said in a statement. "It's hard to believe it has been nearly four years since this tragedy, and our hearts go out to the victims' friends and families during this difficult time of remembrance."

He continued: "I'm proud to introduce this resolution to honor the victims’ memories and the courage of the police officers who rushed into danger to protect innocent people, six of whom were injured in the shooting. We cannot forget the events of that day, and we must remain committed to putting an end to these tragedies once and for all."
The resolution was cosponsored by the entire Illinois Democratic House delegation.
