Report: Nursing Homes Need Additional State Funding
This new report from the Health Care Council of Illinois finds Illinois nursing homes desperately need more state support.

SPRINGFIELD -- With 20 state-licensed nursing homes closing because they can't make ends meet in the last five years, the trade association representing those who serve our elderly says enough is enough.
The Health Care Council of Illinois commissioned an expert study at the crisis of care facing nursing homes around the state, and found without a serious injection of new state resources quality care could be hard to come by within the next decade.
"These facilities are closing, and I can tell you more are going to close," HCCI told Capitol News Illinois, adding that nursing homes are facing a situation where they "can no longer financially survive."
