Restoration Workdays Coming to Oakhurst Forest Preserve
New site steward at at Oakhurst Forest Preserve hosting restoration workdays to clear and remove invasive flora.

Good news!
Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora has a new site steward, and will be hosting monthly restoration workdays every third Sunday of the month. This first workday will be this coming Sunday, July 16th, starting a 8am.
Volunteers will meet at the first shelter for coffee and introductions.
On the agenda will be the exciting task of eliminating the invasive plant cut-leaf teasel. It's tall and prickly, so gloves and long pants are required, and long-sleeved shirt recommended. We will also be out in the open and wandering through tall foliage, so don't forget a hat, sunscreen and bug repellent.
