Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Held For New Aurora Restaurant
Aurora held its first ribbon-cutting ceremony of the New Year. Community leaders celebrated the official opening of Stolp Island Social.

AURORA, IL—Aurora recently held its first ribbon-cutting ceremony of the New Year. On Tuesday, the community along with city leaders celebrated the recent opening of Amy Morton's Stolp Island Social.
Staff members of the restaurant were joined by nearly 100 supporters from the community to celebrate the official grand opening of the eatery, according to city officials.
The restaurant, which is located at the corner of Galena and Stolp Blvd. in downtown Aurora and opened in December 2019, serves up prime cuts of meat, fresh seafood, craft cocktails, live jazz and more.

Owned by award-winning restaurateur Amy Morton, Stolp Island Social is her fourth restaurant and the first outside of Evanston.
City officials also said another restaurant will soon open across the street from the steakhouse. The owners of Altiro Latin Fusion is currently putting up the finishing touches to the restaurant with plans to open in the near future at the ground level of Leland Towers.
