Rush Copley Medical Center Welcomes 1st Baby Of 2026

The first baby to be born at the Aurora hospital was a boy.

AURORA, IL — A Chicago couple welcomed the first baby of 2026 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

Alesso Morado arrived at 1:21 a.m. Jan. 1, weighing 6 pounds and 8 ounces and measuring 19.25 inches, hospital representatives told Patch. The baby boy was born to parents Angelica Cervantes and Rene Morado, of West Lawn.

Alesso is the couple's second child. Their first, a girl, is 15 years old.
