Plainfield, Aurora Book Drives Aim To Collect 25K Books For Kids
The Goddard School, partnering with Bernie's Book Bank, is hosting a book drive that will take place throughout February.
PLAINFIELD, IL — In an effort to connect under-served children with lots of books, The Goddard School is hosting a book drive throughout February. Between its locations, organizers have set a goal to collect a combined 25,000 books.
The Goddard School, an early childcare provider for kids ages six weeks to six years old, is partnering with Bernie's Book Bank to provide access to books and improve literacy among children in the community.
"Although reading is considered one of the single most important skill a child needs, only 61% of low-income families have no books at all in their homes for their children," reads a Thursday news release about the book drive.
