'The SpongeBob Musical' To Be Performed By Aurora University

Showtimes of the Aurora University Theatre Department production are open through the weekend, and they're filling fast.

AURORA, IL — "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants." The Aurora University Theatre Department is bringing to life the beloved animated show. Showtimes for the "The SpongeBob Musical" are open through April 3, and slots are filling fast.

The production started March 25 and will run through April 3. Several showtimes are already at full capacity, but 7:30 p.m. shows between March 30 to April 2 are still open.

The musical put on by Aurora University students is taking place at Perry Theatre in the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Center for Cultural Enrichment, 349 S. Gladstone Ave.

The Bikini Bottom clan will come alive to entertain audiences, and in a higher-stakes fashion.

"The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world,"the event description reads. "Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage."
