St. Patrick's Day In Aurora: Procession, Flag Raising Planned
Aurora's second-annual Irish Flag-Raising Ceremony will be preceded by a procession of 20-plus units, including cars and cultural groups.
AURORA, IL — Aurora will be painted green on St. Patrick's Day this year as a number of activities are planned to celebrate the Irish holiday.
Events for the day will begin at noon with a procession of more than 20 units, including cars, cultural groups and floats by businesses and organizations.
Downer Place will serve as the parade's main thoroughfare. The procession will step off at Water Street, head west and conclude at Stolp Avenue, where participants and spectators will gather for the second-annual Irish Flag-Raising Ceremony.

The event, set to take place on the main stage at 20 E. Downer Place, will include cultural performances, a proclamation reading, the Emerald Excellence Awards presentation and a raising of the Irish flag.
The parade is sponsored by the Dolan family in collaboration with the City of Aurora.
