St. Therese Home and School Welcomes Community Representatives
Mayor Richard Irvin among notable guests
Aurora, IL - Each month, school parents from St. Therese Catholic School gather to learn about upcoming events at the school. October was a bit different. For this meeting of the Home and School Committee, representatives from various high schools, school and Church ministries and civic organizations joined the meeting to share information about themselves and raise awareness of their services.
Notable among our guests, was the Mayor of Aurora, Mr. Richard C. Irvin, who was able to meet parents and children alike. Mr. Irvin answered questions and asked a few himself, taking the time at St. Therese to learn more about the exciting things going on in our school. "It was a wonderful opportunity for our families to meet the Mayor," said Heather Baer, Assistant Principal. "We teach our children about government in our classrooms. Now they have met someone who is part of that process and working on their behalf."
In addition, we had had representatives from Rosary High School, Aurora Central Catholic High School, Marmion Academy, St. Therese Parish Ministries, St. Therese Student Council, The Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Roses from Heaven, Grand Dental and The Aurora Police Department. Thank you to everyone for making our meeting a huge success!
