St. Therese School Celebrates Catholic Schools Week
Registration opens on Sunday, January 29th, for the 2017-18 school year

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week has been the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It begins the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2017 is January 29 - February 4. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2017 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” Schools typically observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.
St. Therese School will kick off their celebrations on Sunday with an all school Mass at 10:00am in our Church located at 250 N. Farnsworth Avenue and will be featuring our school choir. Breakfast may be purchased after Mass in the Church basement. Beginning at noon and continuing until 2:00, faculty and staff will be available to answer questions about programs offered and to guide tours through our school. For existing students, parents may return registration forms to the school office to secure their spaces for the 2017-18 school year beginning this date. New families may meet the Principal and pick up application materials for their children.
For the remainder of the week, a variety of events are planned including: Pajama Day/Mismatch Day on Monday and Tuesday is Teacher Appreciation Day with the faculty being served a parent planned lunch. St. Therese will celebrate Community Day on Wednesday with an all school mass at 8:15AM and Funway Skate Night from 6:00 to 8:00PM. Friday is Student Appreciation Day and the students will be allowed a relaxed dress code and be treated to a program by the Jesse White Tumblers. Friday concludes our celebration. We will have another Open House from 9:00 to 11:00 AM and for those children who ordered it, lunch from Buona Beef will be served.
