Students Build Bridges At STEM Event In Aurora

Students built bridges and leaned to work with electrical circuits at the April 7 event.

AURORA, IL — When students in Aurora recently got a chance to build bridges during a hands-on Mathlete Day, they were building metaphorical bridges too — by moving forward with the ongoing STEM education initiative. The April event, dubbed Mathlete Day, offered eight workshops for students from East Aurora School District 131.

At the event, the students were put into teams to work constructing bridges and learn about building electrical circuitry with the help of volunteers from ComEd. Exelon’s Susan Korn, VP of Nuclear Management, was on hand to give the budding engineers and math experts a chance to learn tips and tricks from a professional, ComEd said in a ComEd press release.

Congratulations to all the students for their hard work.
