Sullivan-Highland Roundabout Now Open to Traffic

The addition of a roundabout at the Sullivan Road and Highland Avenue intersection was designed to improve the flow of traffic.

AURORA, IL - The Sullivan-Highland roundabout in Aurora opened to traffic Monday afternoon, city officials said.

The reconstruction of the intersection of Sullivan Road and Highland Avenue was designed to improve the flow of traffic with the installation of a roundabout, according to the city of Aurora Facebook page. The project, which also includes new curbs, gutters, concrete islands, storm sewer and asphalt paving, was completed on time.

Prior to the opening of the roundabout, Mayor Tom Weisner and the Aurora City Council hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony. A video of the ribbon cutting ceremony can be viewed below.
