Teen Shot to Death in Ex-Girlfriend's Home: Sheriff
The man gained entry to the woman's home and the pair argued before the shooting, police said.

A teenager was shot to death after gaining entry to his ex-girlfriend's home Monday afternoon, Kane County Sheriff Donald Kramer said.
Jared Peters, 18, of Aurora, was found dead inside in the 600 block of South Gladstone in unincorporated Aurora Township at around 1 p.m., police said.
Peters reportedly entered the home and had a confrontation with a woman he had previously dated, according to Kramer. The woman was alone in the home when Peters entered, police said.

"At some point shots were fired inside the residence," Kramer said in a news release. "The exact details of what occurred inside the residence are still under investigation." Detectives recovered a handgun from inside the home, he added.
Kramer said no one is in custody in the case and detectives believe it was an isolated domestic incident.

Police said while there were initial reports of a suspicious person in the area of the home at the time of the incident, "it was determined that the suspicious person was in fact the deceased."
The police are conducting an ongoing death investigation with the assistance of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force, Kane County Coroner’s Office and the Aurora Police Department.
