Tip from Neighbor Helps Aurora Police Foil Vehicle Burglary

Police are continuing to investigate who his accomplice may have been.

AURORA, IL — A neighbor reporting suspicious activity helped police catch a vehicle burglar.

At around 1:15 a.m., Oct. 23, police responded to the area of Sumner and Fenton for two people who appeared to be trying to enter vehicles. In front of a home in the 200 block of N. Kendall, officers found a 17-year-old Aurora boy, who matched the description of one of the suspects, inside of a parked pickup truck. When they ordered him out of the vehicle, a computer game fell from a backpack he was wearing. Upon searching the backpack, several video games and other apparent proceeds from other possible burglaries were found. The suspect was charged with burglary and criminal trespass to a motor vehicle, both felonies.

Police are continuing to investigate who his accomplice may have been. He was described only as a male wearing all dark clothing and wearing a dark backpack.
