Fall festivities will soon be upon Aurora residents, and among the activities to look forward to is the pantry's free trunk or treat.

AURORA, IL — Planning for fall festivities planning has already begun for some. In Aurora, the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry has set the date for its fourth annual Trunk or Treat.
The event, free for families, is scheduled to take place from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 20 in the parking lot of Splash Country Water Park, 195 S. Barnes Road.
Last year, 272 vehicles attended the event, according to the organization.

The trunk or treat will be set up as a drive-thru. Families will drive through the lot and stop at each participant's parked decorated vehicle, where volunteers will distribute candy, as well as information about their organizations.
The trunk or treat is an effort to connect families with the community and let kids enjoy fall decorations in a safe, family-friendly environment, organizers said.
