Two Men Hospitalized After Shooting in Apartment Complex Parking Lot
Police believe the sale or purchase of illegal drugs may have played a role in this shooting.

AURORA, IL - The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night in the parking lot of an apartment complex in unincorporated Aurora Township.
Just before midnight two victims, both adult males, were sitting in a car in a parking lot at the apartment complex, which is located at 1601 Reckinger Road in unincorporated Aurora Township, when a person approached them and started shooting into the car, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office press release. The victims said they did not know the person.
Both men were struck by the bullets but their injuries were not life-threatening, police said. The two victims drove themselves to the Aurora Police Department following the shooting and then were transported to Provera Mercy Hospital in Aurora.

Detectives were able to recover evidence of the shooting in the parking lot of the apartment complex. There are no subjects in custody and no suspect information.
Investigators are still trying to establish a motive but have not ruled out that the sale or purchase of illegal drugs played a role in this shooting, police said.
