The Wheatlands Elementary teachers make the grade

Local teachers serve students and families during McTeacher's Night to raise money for the school's PTO.

Aurora | The Wheatlands Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support the School’s PTO.

Teachers from Aurora School District 308 volunteered behind the counter on Thursday, September 13th, at the Aurora McDonald’s located at 2230 S. Eola Rd. The teachers worked hard to serve students and their families in a fundraiser for The Wheatlands Elementary School.

Ms. Porter, First Grade Teacher, Mrs. Rost, Third Grade Teacher, and Assistant Principal Mrs. Craig all took turns wearing the pie costume, Alongside, Ms. G, Ms. Gatenby, and Mrs.Weisbrook who each tended to apple pie sells during the night and did a fabulous job.

Michelle DeDecker, PTO Secretary said. “McTeacher’s Night is an evening of school comradery and fun! It is a valuable fundraiser for us.”

The proceeds from the sales of 202 pies went directly to benefit The Wheatlands PTO. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the McTeacher’s Night sales were donated directly to The Wheatlands, which plans to use the money to help pay for technology purchases.

The Schmitt Family is proud to serve the families of The Wheatlands community through the McTeacher’s Night events.

The Schmitt Family donated a case of apple pies to the school for sales at the event.
