AURORA, IL — Family members found a woman dead in her residence in the 900 block of Lebanon Street Thursday morning, Aurora police said. In a Facebook post alerting the community of the active investigation at 1:18 p.m. Thursday, police dispelled rumors circulating on social media claiming a shooting had occurred. "There is no credible evidence to show any shooting occurred and there are no reports of shots fired," police wrote in the post. The death investigation is ongoing. Police could not provide Patch with an update as of Friday morning.
