Wreath-Laying Ceremony Planned For 7th Anniversary Of Henry Pratt Shooting
The ceremony will honor the five people who died and the police officers who were injured 7 years ago in the Henry Pratt shooting in Aurora.

AURORA, IL — Aurora will host a wreath-laying ceremony Feb. 15 to honor the five people who died and five police officers who were injured 7 years ago in the Henry Pratt shooting.
The ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. Feb. 15 on the second floor of Aurora City Hall, 44 E. Dower Place.
On Feb. 15, 2019, Russell Beyer, Vicente Juarez, Clayton Parks, Josh Pinkard and Trevor Wehner, an intern on his first day of work, were killed by a fellow employee who opened fire in the Henry Pratt Company warehouse. Police were also injured before the 45-year-old shooter was fatally shot by police, Patch reported.

On the upcoming anniversary, the victims' families will share remarks, as will Mayor John Laesch, the Aurora Police Department, the Aurora Fire Department and community members. The city will hold a moment of silence following the wreath laying to further honor and remember the men who died, officials said.

"The gathering is intended to both honor and remember the lives lost during the tragedy, hold space for victims' families to grieve, and to reaffirm the City’s commitment to care for one another as a community," city officials wrote in a news release.
