The report also compares Bannockburn's pay levels with other high-paying Illinois districts and notes ongoing teacher shortages statewide. 
• 'It just didn't take off': Why Lake County plastic bag recycling program is ending next year (dailyherald.com) — Bannockburn residents who've been using the orange Hefty ReNew bags for hard-to-recycle plastics should know the program is ending June 30, 2027, because companies can't reliably process the material. Local and regional officials say participation and enthusiasm varied, and they're urging residents to use store drop-offs for plastic bags instead.
