• Proposed 185-Acre Data Center in Hoffman Estates by Karis Critical Cancelled as Firm Bows Out (barringtonhillsobserver.com) — A massive 185-acre data center planned along Hoffman Estates’ edge, bordering South Barrington and Barrington Hills, has been scrapped after strong community pushback. Barrington Hills residents raised concerns about transparency, traffic, and pollution, arguing industrial-scale development doesn’t belong near homes and forest preserves. The developer may return with a more detailed proposal later.
