Barrington Dance Ensemble's Annual Production of The Nutcracker
Barrington Dance Ensemble Celebrates 35th Anniversary with Annual Production of The Nutcracker

Barrington Dance Ensemble (BDE) is delighted to announce its annual production of one of Barrington’s most popular holiday traditions, The Nutcracker. The Christmas centerpiece and classic ballet will run four performances from December 6-8, 2024 at Barrington High School’s Richard C. Johnson Auditorium located at 616 West Main Street in Barrington. Guest artists from National and Chicago regional dance companies, including the Milwaukee Ballet and Giordano Dance Chicago, perform lead soloist roles and are joined by more than 100 performers from the Northwest Chicago suburbs.
The Nutcracker tells the timeless tale of Clara’s magical journey into the Land of Sweets. Ella McGee and Sophia Sheeran, both from Barrington, will share the role of Clara. BDE alum Hannah Ray and Arionel Vargas, former principal dancer with the English National Ballet, will take the stage in the stunning Snow Scene, as Snow Queen and King. Guest stars Jacqueline Moscicke and Yandy Alverez will perform the Sugar Plum pas de deux in the ballet’s second act.
Barrington Dance Ensemble dancers include graduating seniors Erin Chon of Barrington, who will dance the role of Columbine, Elena Pacini of Inverness who will portray the elegant Fairy Angel, and Eren Bergman of Lake in the Hills who will dance as Spanish. The stunning Dew Drop Fairy will be performed by Sienna Till of Barrington and Annika Wuttke of Deer Park. This cast of characters will be joined by professional guest artists, BDE company members, and local student dancers.
Additional Northwest suburban area student performers will take the stage in many roles, including graceful Snow Flurries, mischievous Mice, ethereal Angels, and sweet Bon Bons, including students from Algonquin, Arlington Heights, Barrington, Barrington Hills, Carpentersville, Deer Park, East Dundee, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Huntley, Inverness, Kildeer, Lake Barrington, Lake in the Hills, North Barrington, Palatine, South Barrington, and Wauconda.
Performances will take place on Friday, December 6, 7:00pm; Saturday, December 7, 2:00pm and 7:00 pm; and Sunday, December 8, 2:00 pm.
