Open Auditions - Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble 2012 Nutcracker Ballet

Open auditions for the 2012 Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble production of "The Nutcracker" ballet will beSunday, September 9th at Barrington Dance Academy, 758 W. Northwest Highway, Barrington.   Student and adult dancers from all local and  regional studios are invited to audition.  Parts are available for both male and female dancers ages 7 through adult/professional.

12:00 – 12:30     ages 7-8 (Last names A-L)

12:45 – 1:15  ages 7-8 (Last names M-Z)

1:30 – 2:00 ages 9-11 (Last names A-L)

2:15 – 2:45 ages 9-11 (Last names M-Z)

3:00 – 3:45 Ages 12-13

4:00-4:45 Ages 14 & up

 ¨ Female dancers should wear a leotard and tights with ballet slippers, hair should be neatly secured.  Bring pointe shoes if applicable. 

¨ Male dancers should wear a white t-shirt and black dance (bike) shorts with ballet slippers.

¨ Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appropriate audition time to register; there is a $20 audition fee.

¨ There will be a Nutcracker participation contract to review at the auditions which covers rehearsals, costuming and performance scheduling. 

 

BYDE’s 2012 Nutcracker performances will be November, 30th, December 1st and December 2nd at              Barrington High School.  Rehearsals are every Sunday in September, October and November at Barrington Dance Academy, and every afternoon and evening the week of November 26 through November 30 at Barrington High School.  All dancers must be available for all rehearsals to participate in BYDE’s 2012 Nutcracker production.

The Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble  (BYDE)  is a 501©(3) charitable arts organization promoting artistic integrity, involvement and awareness through exceptional dance training and performance in the Chicagoland area.  BYDE presents major classical dance productions that involve community children and adults such as The Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Graduation Ball, and an annual Nutcracker ballet.  BYDE provides reduced price ticketing for seniors and low income youth to our annual production of The Nutcracker and grants dance education scholarships in the areas of artistic talent, financial need, and a boys-only scholarship.
