Local DAR Chapter Goes "Beyond The Wreath"

Barrington Wreaths Across America™ Event Nurtures Year-round Honor

Many of the identified military Veterans interred at Evergreen are buried in family plots without government--issued gravestones and have been classified as Veterans using information gathered from available sources like obituaries, census and pension records, and newspaper articles.

As part of the Wreaths Across America mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom, members of Signal Hill Chapter, NSDAR, have now photographed and placed online all Veteran gravesites pre-dating July, 2023. These photos are located on a website called Find A Grave, used by family history researchers to determine birth, death, and residence proof. (see: https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2162449/evergreen-cemetery).

If you wish to purchase and place a wreath for a specific Veteran buried at Evergreen Cemetery, please go to https://wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/159678/Overview/?relatedId=159677; click on “More Options” and scroll forward to “In Honor and Memory of” to enter Veteran information.
