MUFG Executive Wendy Breuder to Serve on the DirectWomen Board Institute for 2015

Breuder heads Midwest General Industries for the U.S. Corporate Banking Division of MUFG Union Bank, N.A.

Managing Director and Co-General Manager Wendy Breuder, who heads Midwest General Industries for the U.S. Corporate Banking Division of MUFG Union Bank, N.A., and who has more than 25 years’ experience in capital markets and corporate banking, has been selected as a member of the DirectWomen Board Institute Class for 2015.

DirectWomen selects a group of experienced and accomplished women lawyers and executives from a highly competitive pool of applicants across the United States to attend the Board Institute. The Institute covers key issues facing current and future corporate directors and provides an opportunity for class members to interact with leading executives, directors, search firm consultants and institute alumnae. The 21 class members represent a wide range of business knowledge and experience, including in-house counsel or executives at leading companies, including 10 firms listed in the Fortune 500.

“I am thrilled and honored to be joining the DirectWomen Board Institute, and to be working alongside so many accomplished women sharing ideas and strategies for increasing the number of women serving on corporate boards,” said Breuder. “I know I’m representing my colleagues at MUFG as well and look forward to sharing my findings with them and with our executive management team.”

The Institute provides an orientation and update on significant issues facing current and future directors, with the goal of positioning a group of exceptional senior women lawyers for service as directors of major U.S. corporations. The Board Institute faculty features experienced directors and officers of large public companies and looks at a wide range of cutting-edge subjects, including the work of nominating and corporate governance committees, the evolving nature of shareholder relations, the strategic role of audit committees and the involvement of executive search firms in board searches.

“We are pleased DirectWomen has recognized Wendy’s significant accomplishments and deep understanding of the business and financial complexities of U.S. multinational corporations,” said Kevin Cronin, Head of U.S. Corporate Banking for MUFG Union Bank. “She is a valued member of our senior management team and will be a thoroughly engaged contributor to the Institute. This is a well-deserved recognition.”
