New Retail Boutique Opening on Pepper Road in Lake Barrington
The Sélectionner blends modern and vintage fashions

A new retail boutique - The Sélectionner – will officially open on Pepper Rd. in Lake Barrington on March 5, 2022, with grand opening celebrations taking place through March 11. The boutique is founded by Jacey & Charlie Silverberg, Lake Barrington residents who are opening the women’s clothing and accessories store featuring a juxtaposition of modern and vintage fashions.
“We believe that one’s style is individual and has no rules,” said (Jacey) Silverberg. “This is why we are carefully curating the perfect combination of modern and vintage pieces that will help make personal statements.”
The store will feature hand-picked contemporary clothing lines Jacey herself has carefully selected, plus one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, specially curated jewelry and other accessories such as scarves, handbags, gifts, and more, available in limited quantities to ensure uniqueness. The store has an eclectic feel featuring a mix of modern and vintage décor. Silverberg wanted to make the store feel like a “girls night in” featuring a comfy living room in the middle of the store surrounded by the seasonal colors of clothing.

The boutique’s brand name, The Sélectionner is the French version of the word “curate” because Silverberg says, “I spent a lot of time thinking about the women in my life and what would make them happy and confident and really showcase their own personal style. The Sélectionner will show people how trousers from 1970 can pair with a trendy silk cami and a chunky statement necklace.”
Silverberg is opening the store based on her lifelong dream of owning a boutique and her passion for individual fashion. The brand’s logo, a vibrant gold snake, represents transformation, rebirth, and renewal.

The store is inspired by her grandmother, Lil, who will be featured in photos around the store. “I remember being in awe of my Nana who wore her prints, colors, and polyester loud and proud. She had an amazing style and always paired it with a bright red lipstick. Jacey & Charlie’s grandmothers are the personal fashion icons that inspired the ‘Lil, Ida, and Rose’ acknowledgment appearing on the pink vintage hang tags. Jacey has a background in marketing and technology and Charlie has a wholesale/retail sales, and merchandising background.
