New Store Opens at the Ice House Mall & Village Shops

Barrington Fine Rug Gallery’s has opened its doors at the Ice House Mall and Village Shops at 200 Applebee Street in downtown, Barrington, IL. Antique carpets are their passion and delighting clients is their mission.

Today most of what is known as “handmade rugs” that are sold in home furnishing stores are produced in India, Pakistan and China and have very little to do with the great traditions of the past. Although they might be labeled as “handmade oriental rugs”, the quality, material, workmanship and design are not much different from good quality machine made rugs.

The goal of Barrington Fine Rug Gallery is to be in a business that is very different from home furnishing stores. Their focus is on truly one-of-a-kind handmade art pieces that were produced in 18th and 19th and early 20th centuries. Their collection encompasses fine rugs from Persia, Caucasus Region, Middle East, Central Asia, India, China and Europe that are truly work of art in every aspect including design, colors, quality of materials and workmanship. Over the past half a century, owner, Mostafa Beik has assembled a collection of true pieces of art, unique in every aspect including overall design, materials used, age and condition.

In their new store space at the Ice House Mall, Barrington Fine Rug Gallery plans to sell fine and antique carpets at affordable prices and provide cleaning and restoration services to its customers. Barrington Fine Rug Gallery wants to expand the appreciation of fine and antique oriental rugs and to share their knowledge, experience, and love of these beautiful pieces with clients looking to acquire and incorporate these special items in their home and office.
