• Plan to redevelop former Allstate site clears hurdle (dailyherald.com) — South Barrington is moving closer to creating its first tax increment financing district to redevelop Allstate's former headquarters site, with Barrington Area Unit District 220 the lone dissenting vote on a review board of local agencies. The TIF would support new light-industrial buildings and improvements to the South Barrington Office Center, with a key public hearing set for Sept. 17 and a final board vote expected by early 2027. 
• High school football results and local scores for the Southland, Aurora, Elgin, Naperville and Lake County (chicagotribune.com) — Barrington fans can check two key results: the Broncos fell 28-14 to Lincoln-Way Central in football, while the boys soccer team edged Jacobs 1-0 in the Barrington Classic. The roundup also lists dozens of other high school and tournament scores from across the region, offering context on how neighboring programs are starting their seasons.
