Samaritan Counseling Center Hosts Lucky Kentucky Event
Annual Fundraiser Kicks Off Mental Health Awareness Month and Derby Weekend; Raises Funds for Mental Health
Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest Suburbs is hosting a “Lucky Kentucky” fundraiser on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the new Compass Lane Farm in Lake Barrington from 5:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.
To kick off Mental Health Awareness Month and The Kentucky Derby weekend, the event will be held in a barn and will feature a festive night of food trucks, outdoor games, silent and live auctions, appetizers by Wild Asparagus, signature drinks and live music from Acoustic Generation, followed by a DJ for dancing.
Auction items include a Napa wine tour, VIP sporting event tickets, designer jewelry, spa experiences, kayak adventures, professional artwork, summer entertainment getaways and more.

Amidst a global pandemic, lockdowns, vaccinations, remote learning, masks, loss, grief and an upheaval unlike no other, Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest suburbs was able to continue offering counseling services for children, adolescents and adults through the past few years of the pandemic.
In 2021 alone, the non-profit has helped over 1,300 people establish ways of coping and opportunities to strengthen their resilience and determination. The group has provided almost $150,000 in financial assistance to those who could not afford care and anticipate that this need will continue to grow.

"The focus of mental health month - and this fundraiser - is to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in American's lives and to celebrate every step and every recovery from mental illness," said Lori Parrish, Executive Director of Samaritan Counseling Center of the Northwest Suburbs. "We are grateful for our sponsors, supporters and staff in helping us put together a wonderful evening for a great cause."
