The Signal Hill, NSDAR, Chapter of Barrington, IL continues its partnering efforts with two local area groups for the upcoming events:

On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 7:00p.m., Signal Hill will partner with Wauconda Library, 801 Main Street, to present storyteller and historical interpreter RJ Lindsey, who portrays Benjamin Franklin, and will tell stories of spies and inventions that led us through the American Revolution and shaped the world we live in today. For more information, contact Amy Sacca at asacca@wauclib.org, or visit the Wauconda Public Library website. The event is free to the public.

On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, from 12:00nn – 2:00p.m., Signal Hill members will assist the ELA 55 + Senior Center in conducting a genealogy workshop. Attendees are asked to be able to provide information about the most recent three generations of their family, e.g., themselves, their parents, and their grandparents, and a tablet or computer so you can learn along side a researcher. Signal Hill volunteers will show how to look for records, Google search tips, provide a worksheet, and pedigree chart to get you started. The club charge is $5 for members and $10for non-members. The workshop is at Ela Twp Community Center, 380 Surryse Rd., Lake Zurich. For more information, call 847-438-9160 and ask for Susan Dillon.
