Salt used on the sidewalks gets trapped in the paws if they are not trimmed properly by a trained groomer. Consider keeping a warm bowl of water near the door. As you dry your dog’s legs and paws, dip them in the bowl to rinse off any remaining snow or salt. Also, a dog’s paws will dry out and crack during the winter. If you can’t afford the fancy stuff, good old Vaseline will do the trick.
