Vernon Hills native named to Forbes 30 Under 30, Thiel Fellow

Kevin Wang of Vernon Hills has been named to Forbes 30 Under 30.

Dropping out of college in favor of taking a Thiel Fellowship in his teens was definitely not a setback for Vernon Hills native Kevin Wang. Wang was a graduate of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy caught the technology bug and created a popular open source project, called TLDRLegal.com that was a place for software developers to get an understanding of what is in their open source code in plain English and is backed by the Open Source Initiative.

Open source code can be a nightmare for engineers who are developing software. Wang's technology helps companies understand what’s actually in those lines of code, helping them automate open source license compliance and tracking. Wang's software debuted in March 2017 and chances are if you are using open source software in your code - you are using FOSSA.
