2 Batavia Churches Defaced or Damaged; Teens Throw Red Liquid Out of Speeding Car
Batavia Blotter includes property damage, graffiti and one unusual case in which the force of hurled liquid from a speeding car breaks a driver's-side mirror.

The following criminal defacements and criminal damage to property reports were filed at the Batavia Police Department between April 11 and April 22, 2013.
Criminal Defacements—Someone painted graffiti on a utility box in the 300 block of Franklyn Street sometime prior to 3:43 p.m. April 18, reports said.
Criminal Damage to Property—Someone broke a window at the First Baptist Church (City of Batavia property), 15. N. Washington Ave. around 11:07 a.m. April 16, reports said. A window was broken, a window screen was kicked in, and the cost to replace or repair the damage was unknown at the time of the report.

Criminal Defacement—Someone sprayed black paint on the brick concrete sign in front of Immanuel Lutheran Church, 950 Hart Road, sometime prior to 3:28 p.m. April 15, reports said. There was no estimate on the cost of damage at the time of the report.
Criminal Damage to Property—Someone painted graffiti on the west retaining wall behind the Batavia Food Pantry, 100 Flinn St., sometime prior to 8:50 a.m. April 13, reports said.

Criminal Damage to Property—The victim reported at around 6 a.m. April 12 that someone broke the rear window of his vehicle, parked in the 200 block of Trudy Court. The vehicle was locked and nothing was taken. The estimated cost to repair the damage was $280.
Criminal Damage to Property—A group of teenagers in a silver, four-door vehicle threw a cup of red liquid out the window and broke the driver’s-side mirror of another vehicle at Hart Road and Wind Energy Pass, according to a report filed at 6:05 p.m. April 11, reports said. The estimated cost to replace the mirror is $150.
