7 Juveniles Charged With 6 'Drano Bomb' Incidents in North Aurora

All seven juveniles face misdemeanor disorderly-conduct charges. The lone 16-year-old is also charged with felon criminal damage to property.

North Aurora police have charged seven juveniles with igniting six "Drano bomb" blasts in May and June of this year.

The incidents occurred on the village’s west side at the following times, dates and locations:

  • 4:20 a.m. Saturday, May 25, in the 700 block of Magnolia Drive.
  • 4:45 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at three homes in the 1400 block of Oakland Circle. One of these homes also was damaged when the overhead garage door was dented from an offender kicking it. The damage was estimated at $1,450.
  • Sometime between May 29 and June 1 in 100 block of East Victoria Circle. The incident was reported Monday, June 3.
  • Sometime on June 1 in the 100 block of East Victoria Circle. The incident was reported Wednesday, June 5.
  • There were no injuries in any of the incidents and no damage was caused by the Drano bombs, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the North Aurora Police Department.

    After reviewing the case, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized misdemeanor disorderly-conduct charges against the seven North Aurora juveniles, six of whom are 15 year olds and one of whom is 16.

    The 16-year-old also has been charged with felony criminal damage to property in connection with the damage to the overhead garage door in the 1400 block of Oakland Circle.

    All of the juveniles have been referred to Kane County Juvenile Court Services for further action.
