ALDI Employees To Pack Thousands Of Care Packages For Local Food Bank
The 4,000-some care packages will be sent to families across the country that have been impacted by natural disasters and other crises.
BATAVIA, IL — Hundreds of ALDI employees will gather Aug. 15 to pack about 4,000 care packages that will be shipped to Northern Illinois Food Bank.
The packages will go to support families around the country that have been displaced from their homes due to natural disasters and other crises in their communities, officials at the Batavia-based supermarket company said.
Employee volunteers gathered at ALDI corporate headquarters will fill the care packages with items such as peanut butter, granola bars and canned goods. As a final touch, volunteers will personalize each package with a handwritten note to encourage the people receiving it.

The event, in partnership with Feeding America and the Geneva-based food bank, is the first in-person gathering for ALDI employees after a two-year COVID-19 hiatus, officials said. It's the fourth time the company is hosting an event of this kind.
