• Man Found Dead In Batavia Home, Police Investigating (patch.com) — Police are investigating after a man was found dead and a seriously injured woman was discovered inside an apartment on East Wilson Street in Batavia early Saturday morning. Officers say the two knew each other and report no ongoing threat to the community, but they’re asking anyone with information or surveillance video to contact Batavia Police.    

• 'America 250' murals planned for Peoria, other cities (chronicleillinois.com) — Batavia residents can look forward to a new “America 250” mural project funded through a state grant to the Batavia Artists Association. The funding is part of $325,000 in Illinois Arts Council grants supporting 22 murals statewide, including a major piece planned for Peoria, all celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday and local community stories.
