BATAVIA, IL — The leaves are changing, and the air is crisper — that means Halloween is creeping in.
The spooky holiday falls on a Saturday this year, and the City of Batavia set its recommended trick-or-treating hours for 3-7 p.m. Oct. 31.
Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use extra caution as children walk around the city collecting candy. Houses that don't want to participate should turn off their porch lights or put up a sign.
The start of Batavia's indoor farmers market season also coincides with Halloween. Organized by Batavia MainStreet, the market will take place from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday through mid-May at Sturdy Shelter Brewing.
