Lady Eagles Win Tournament Third Year in a Row

The seventh and eighth grade girls’ basketball team from Immanuel Lutheran School in Batavia was crowned as champions at the sixth annual Eagle Invitational Basketball Tournament held on January 25 and 26 on the school's campus at 950 Hart Road in Batavia. This was the Lady Eagles third consecutive year as championships of their home tournament. The Lady Eagles beat Immanuel Lutheran School of Crystal Lake, Holy Cross Catholic School (Batavia) before defeating Crossroads Community Christian School of Big Rock in the Championship game on Saturday night. This comes after tournament championships earlier in the season at both Cross Lutheran School in Yorkville and Aurora Christian. With the win, the Lady Eagles improved to 14-3 on the season. The girls' representing Immanuel Lutheran School are Lauren
Whitney, Morgan Erickson, Sarah Daley, Amy Ten
Haken, Claire Drewes, Sarah Hager, Natalie Ciaccio, and Sarah Wert.

The Lady Eagles are coached by Sharon Dalpini, Steve Mudd and Dale Wert.

The 2013 Eagle cheer squad played a big role in the Eagle
Invitational Tournament. The cheerleaders made posters for each of the teams that participated in the tournament. The girls also cheered for the Friday evening first round games and then returned on Saturday to cheer the Eagles on to victory. A floor routine choreographed by assistant cheer coach, Jenna Lane,was also performed at half time. The Eagle cheer squad includes: RachaelvHendricks, Ashaley Wicks, Cara Serpe, Alexis Haslett, Maggie Boersma, and KaylavSiemann. The cheer squad is coached by Penny Suydam and Jenna Lane.
