Batavia Blotter: 7-Year-Old Bitten by Llasa Apso Dog, Death by Natural Causes

Here are some miscellaneous, semi-unusual items from the Batavia police blotter.

Batavia police reports always contain some items that don't fall under a prescribed or common category. Here are a few that took place between May 6 and May 12, 2013.

Found Property—A complainant found a green bag containing property belonging to a female resident of Batavia, according to a report filed around 6:47 a.m. May 11. The officer was unable to locate the subject at the time the report was filed.

Dog Bite—Officers reported to Payne Woods Park, 2020 Gillenwater, when Tri-Com reported a 7-year-old had been bitten by a dog, according to a report filed around 3:50 p.m May 11. The dog was a Lhasa Apso. The owner of the dog and the victim’s mother were notified. The owner completed a Kane County animal bite form.

Death Natural Causes—Officers responded to the 300 block of Hamlet Street for a male subject found deceased by his son, reports said. The victim, 94, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Kane County Coroner’s Office was notified.

Disturbance—A disturbance took place in the 900 block of Park Street between the victim and her son, according to a report filed around 9:21 a.m. May 10. The young man was refusing to go to school and was subsequently transported to Batavia High School without further incident, reports said.

Deceptive Practices—The owner of Shear Ambition, 36 North Island Ave., reported to police that a customer paid for services with a bad check, according to a report filed around 9:33 a.m. May 10. The offender was contacted and did submit payment for the full amount. No complaint was signed, reports said.

Runaway—The complainant told police that his daughter and a friend, both 15, left the residence in the 800 block of Norcross without telling him they were leaving or where they were going. Both subjects were entered into LEADS.
