9 Cited for Underage Drinking

Police arrested Erin C. Mahan, 18, of Hinckley was arrested and eight juveniles were cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor around 10:20 p.m. June 10 in the 400 block of South Prairie Street, reports said. Mahan has a court date of July 16.

Police Assist on House Fire

Batavia police assisted the Batavia Fire Department in a house fire at 11:42 p.m. June 15, 351 S. Randall Road, reports said. A Chevy Suburban engulfed in flames inside bay, and damage of an unknown dollar amount was done to a vehicle and business, reports said. No criminal activity is suspected.

Disorderly Conduct

Batavia police arrested Ronald E. Spriet, 74, of Batavia around 2:52 p.m. June 16 on charges of disorderly conduct. He posted 10 percent of $1,200 bond and has a court date of July 9.

Turned In Property

Someone turned in a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber gun to 100 N. Island Avenue, according to a report filed around 11:40 a.m. June 15.

Lost Property

A man reported that he lost his wallet while at R&S Liquors, 415 E. Wilson St., around 4:31 p.m. June 14. The wallet contained his driver’s license, Social Security card, medical cards, credit cards and about $70 in cash.
