BATAVIA, IL — The Batavia Police Department revealed Wednesday that officers issued a total of 56 tickets during the Fourth of July safety campaign.
The "Click It or Ticket" enforcement ran from June 20 to July 7, encompassing Independence Day. During the campaign, police's citations included 37 for speeding, one for distracted driving and 18 for other traffic violations. Officers also made two driving under the influence-related arrests — one for drugs and the other for alcohol — as well as one arrest for driving without a valid license.
