Batavia Teen Allegedly Left Live Bullet At Kaneland High School
Police say a 17-year-old Batavia boy is in custody after he allegedly left a .45 caliber bullet in the boys' bathroom at Kaneland High.

BATAVIA, IL — A 17-year-old Batavia boy is in custody after he allegedly left a live bullet in the boys' bathroom of a school in Maple Park. Police say the .45-caliber bullet was found at Kaneland High School during a routine safety check on Monday. The school was on soft lockdown for more than two hours as police investigated the scene, according to Kane County Chronicle.
Police reviewed surveillance footage and say they determined that a 17-year-old boy, who is a student at Batavia High School, left the bullet in the bathroom while he was attending classes at Fox Valley Career Center. He did not have a weapon on him, police said.

Just days earlier, Kaneland High School was placed on soft lockdown Wednesday after a bullet casing was found in the cafeteria, according to Kane County Chronicle.
