• More Than $50K Up For Grabs In Rotary Club of Batavia Annual Charity Raffle (patch.com) — Batavia residents can now buy $100 tickets for the Rotary Club of Batavia's annual charity raffle, which will award a $50,000 grand prize on November 21. With only 1,200 tickets available and early-bird drawings in September and October, proceeds will support local charities, housing and food programs, and scholarships for area students.
   

• Single-family home sells for $800,000 in Batavia (shawlocal.com) — A five-bedroom home at 630 Wind Energy Pass in Batavia sold on August 20 for $800,000, or $212 per square foot. Built in 2001 with nearly 3,800 square feet and a three-car garage, it's part of a trend of high-end sales nearby, including recent closings on Wind Energy Pass, Pottawatomie Trail, and Von Hoff Drive.
   

• Batavia rolls over Glenbard North: Kane County Chronicle high school football roundup (shawlocal.com) — Batavia High School's football team rolled past Glenbard North 49–21 in Carol Stream, improving to 2–1 overall and 1–0 in DuKane Conference play. The Bulldogs now prepare to host Lake Park in Week 4, while several other area Catholic and private schools also logged notable wins and losses.
